Kitten appreciates new lease on life

By Shadow Jackson | Sep 28, 2012

Hi my name is Shadow.  I am a 7-week-old kitten.  I am gray with a white belly and white feet. I have six toes on each of my front feet and a dewclaw on my back right foot. I was tied in a trash bag and thrown from a green pick-up truck on a back road to Georgetown just past Wilson's Store on Sept. 8 at about 2 p.m.

Luckily, this lady in a little silver car saw it, stopped and picked me up. She was very nice. She held me because I was shaking and then let me sit in her lap while she took me to her mommy's house. She played with me and held me til her mommy came home and said I could stay.

It's nice here; I have all the food and water I want; sometimes they even give me some of what they're eating. (We had ham last night and daddy fed me a whole bunch!) I have lots of cool toys to play with and boxes to play in.  When I get tired I climb up daddy's pant leg so he picks me up and I go to sleep lying on his arm snuggled against his chest.

They give me baths because I am too little for the flea stuff. That feels really good. When I'm done washing myself, mom and dad let me cuddle in their arms and go to sleep. I have a sister and three brothers now too.  Maybe they think I'm too little to play with, but my big brother seems to want to play with me.

I sleep with my new mom and dad in the big bed, when I'm not laying with their toes. They even taught me to go into the box with the sand.  I didn't like it at first; I kept going in their bed. When I finally went in the box they hugged me and told me what a good boy I was.

Life is pretty good right now.  I am sure glad that man threw me out of his truck doing 50 miles an hour and the nice lady picked me up.
