Laura D. Walter

Laura D. Walter, 51 of Easton, Pa., passed away peacefully after a courageous 15-month battle with breast cancer Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at her daughter’s residence with her loving family by her side. She was born in Bryn Mawr, Pa., Dec. 23, 1961, daughter of the late John Heffner and Frances D. (Davidson) Corbett.

Ms. Walter, formerly of Montgomery County, Pa., was a loving mother and grandmother who had immense love for her grandchildren and cherished every moment with them. She had a sarcastic sense of humor, a feisty wit and you could always expect a smile. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and taking long walks on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk and Long Beach Island. She was a fan of football, especially the Patriots and watching NASCAR, with Dale Earnhart Sr. being her favorite driver. Her love and devotion to family will live in each of her children and grandchildren.

Ms. Walter is survived by her son Mark Walter, Jr. of Hatfield, Pa.; her two daughters, Heather Shirk and her husband Kyle of Fleetwood, Pa. and Meghan King and her husband Matt of Milton; her two sisters, Anne Herr and her husband Gerry of Columbia, Pa. and Amy Saunders and her husband Spencer of New Hope, Pa.; her two nephews, Corey Williams and Aubrey Saunders; her niece, Lila Saunders; and her two grandchildren, Liam Shirk and Gracelynne King.

All services are private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
