Laurel New Century Club welcomes county vice president
GFWC DSFWC Laurel New Century Club President Suzanne Layton, left, welcomed guest speaker Sussex County Vice President Henrietta Belcher-Stack, to the club meeting Nov. 6. Belcher-Stack addressed the club members regarding her vision for her next two-year term for the Sussex clubs: alliance of all Sussex clubs, community recognition and membership.
The Laurel club was founded in 1909 and federated in 1911. The meeting took place at the Laurel Georgia House where many topical issues and new business were discussed.
The General Federation of Women's Clubs, founded in 1890, is an international women's organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. GFWC is one of the world's largest and oldest nonpartisan, nondenominational women's volunteer service organizations.
