Shown at the dinner on Nov. 7 at Saint Peter's Parish Hall are (l-r) Patty Saffronoff, fundraiser organizer; the Rev. Jeffrey Ross, Saint Peter's pastor; Adrian Ross, senior warden, Saint Paul’s Anglican Church, San Miguel de Allende; Patricia Palicios, principal, Centro Infantil San Pablo, and husband Leonardo Basandua.

Saint Peter's Episcopal Church in Lewes is hosting educators from Centro Infantil San Pablo, a school for underprivileged children in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico.

At a cost of $480 for a school year, the school provides a high-quality education using three teachers with bachelor’s degrees in early childhood education and a full-time principal. The school is for children 3 to 5 years old, who live in the campo area of San Miguel. The students are among the poorest children in Mexico, living in homes with no running water, electricity or toilets. Their adult guardians make less than $250 a month and often have three or more children in their care.

The school features personal attention for each child, English classes for children and parents, a nutritious meal on-site every school day, parent participation in their children’s education, school uniforms, early identification of health problems and learning disabilities, dental and eye exams, dance and swim instruction, field trips, accident insurance, and parenting classes.

Donations are tax-deductible. For additional information call Saint Peter's at 302-645-8479, or go to www.centroinfanhtilsanpablo.org.
