LFD Auxiliary fundraiser a success

By Marcia Esposito | Feb 18, 2013

The Lewes Fire Department Auxiliary was thrilled with the turnout for the first Annual Valentine’s Dinner Dance held Feb. 9 at the Lewes Fire Department Station 2. The evening was fun and lively, filled with great music and food, and turned out to be a successful fundraiser to benefit the new Station 2 building fund.

We would like to thank those local businesses that helped the auxiliary with such a successful night and encourage all residents to support those that have supported us.

Ernesto Carannande, owner of DaVinci’s Restaurant in Lewes, was exceptionally generous with the Italian fare. The food was delicious and plentiful. We are thrilled that you are such a wonderful supporter of the Lewes Fire Department, and thank you for the great service.

We would like to also thank DJ Claudius Jr. Bowden, who played great tunes to dance to and stayed late to play just for the fun of it! The dance floor was a vibrant scene with both the young and still young-at-hearters showing off moves and having fun.

We would like to give a big shout out thank you to Dogfish Head for their beer and benevolence. It was a pleasure dealing with Mark Carter.

We would like to thank Blooming Boutique, Lewes Gifts, Kids' Ketch and Bob Jones for contributing raffle items.

Our young volunteers, Sean Dorney and Autumn Davis, tirelessly sold raffle tickets and deserve a special thanks. It was hard to refuse them, which contributed greatly to the night’s profits!

Lastly and most importantly, the LFD Auxiliary would like to thank all those who came out in support… our families, friends and neighbors. We could not have done this without you and look forward to more good times in the future!
