Lies, lies, more lies on chicken plant

By Ken Haynes | Aug 08, 2013

This is concerning the proposed chicken processing plant intended for Pinnacle Plant on Iron Branch Road in Millsboro.  In the written minutes of June 3, Allen Harim stated 47 trucks would come in and out of this site each day.  At the two community meetings Allen Harim said 80 to 90 trucks would come in and out of this site each day. They, also stated that they would be using approximately 800,000 gallons of water a day.

Using their (Allen Harim) math of five gallons of water to clean one chicken,  that comes to 160,000 chickens processed a day and 80 to 90 trucks to haul away feathers, guts and finished product and unknown information for the disposal of wastewater.

Now per WATTAGNET.COM (updated July 26), Allen Harim wants to process two million chickens a week, which equals 400,000 chicken a day.  Again, using their math at five gallons of water to clean one chicken, that equals to two million gallons of water per day.  That also means the trucks increases to  200 to 235 in and then out per day.  And God only knows the amount of wastewater disposal.

The information that was said at the June 3 meeting now has nothing to do with what Allen Harim really wants.  Also, with only four permit agencies replying to the letters out of 10, and the four that did reply knew nothing about Allen Harim’s plans, thus only commenting on Vlasic Pickle's building and equipment.  How can the board of adjustment even vote on the information they have been given.
