A Lincoln man, 47, was charged with rape and other charges March 15 in connection with a 16-year-old girl.
The 16-year-old girl told police she was raped by Wayne H. Thompson Jr. over a four-year period while she resided with relatives in Mobile Gardens in Seaford, said Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.
Thompson turned himself in to police and was charged with 48 counts of second-degree rape and one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child, Fournier said.
He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $98,000 secured bond.
