A 23-year-old Lincoln woman wanted in connection with a Rehoboth Shores home invasion and assault was arrested by Georgetown police Aug. 5 while waiting for a bus.

Someone called Georgetown police to let them know Erica Jones was at the bus stop at 8 a.m. on North Railroad Avenue, said Lt. Lawrence A. Grose of the Georgetown Police Department.

Jones has several capiases out of Sussex County Court of Common Pleas, and she also was wanted by Delaware State Police for the Aug. 5 home invasion of a Rehoboth Shores home and assault of a resident, Grose said.

Georgetown police turned Jones over to Delaware State Police. Further information will be provided when available.

In an earlier press release, police said Jones and Niesha N. Bland, 20, of Laurel brandished a large pipe when they broke into a home at 10 p.m. July 11 in the 26000 block of Portside Drive.

Once inside the home, the two tackled and assaulted a 32-year-old woman, who is an acquaintance, before slapping the woman's 2-year-old son across his face, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.

The women left the home and used the pipe to smash the front windshield of a car belonging to a 56-year-old man, Fournier said.

Bland was arrested July 12 and charged with home invasion, first-degree conspiracy and two counts of offensive touching. She was released on $28,000 unsecured bond.
