Lingo lacrosse falls in final at Ocean City Lacrosse Classic

The Jack Lingo/Fireball Lacrosse Club ran into wind, rain and a fiery good 1 Lacrosse team in the final of the Ocean City Lacrosse Classic held Aug. 15-18 at Ocean City's North Side Park, falling to 1 Lacrosse 10-6 in the Men's Elite Atlantic Division Championship.

Jack Lingo/Fireball had an impressive team consisting of LXM stars Kyle Harrison of Johns Hopkins; Sam Bradman of Salisbury; Dan Deckelbaum of Delaware; Graham Gill of Navy; and noted pros Josh Rachman of Baltimore Bombers; Andrew Wasik of Philadelphia Wings; Kyle Hartzell of Ohio Machine; and Matt Baran, Spencer Steele and Jack Lingo from the New Jersey Pride. Other local collegiate players Franc Cook, Andrew Scrutchfield, Joey Cahill and Nick Scroggs filled out the roster.

"We had the strongest team we've ever had," said player/coach Jack Lingo. "They are a great group of guys. We had a lot of fun."

The 1 Lacrosse team was lead by NCAA players Ryan Brown of Johns Hopkins and 2013 NCAA champions Deemer Class and Case Matheis of Duke. Lynchburg's Austin Stewart and Aaron Murphy also added their talents to the mix along with numerous D1 players.

In the semifinals Jack Lingo/Fireball defeated Kooper's Diamond Cutters 7-5 with a second-half comeback after being down 4-1 early in the contest.
