Local firm Travis Boardman takes highway safety message to the road
Travis Boardman Inc., a trucking company serving Dover, Salisbury, Md., and communities throughout Delmarva, participated in a highway safety event Sept. 28 at Dover Air Force Base. This event was part of the Race Weekend Social series of activities that Dover AFB hosted while NASCAR held its races at the Monster Mile.
Representatives from Travis Boardman Inc. and the Delaware Office of Highway Safety were available to answer questions and provide materials on highway safety, including information on seat belts, safety advice for traveling with children and motorcycle awareness tips. As part of the festivities, the No. 11 FedEx Ground NASCAR vehicle was on hand.
The event was open to all active-duty and retired military personnel at Dover AFB and their families. In speaking about this opportunity, Travis Boardman, president of Travis Boardman Inc., said, “Our company and employees really enjoy participating in this event every year because it’s a great opportunity to serve those who spend so much of their time serving us. By bringing our highway safety message to Dover Air Force Base, I hope that we are able to help out the true heroes who have made a career out of protecting our country and families. This is our way of trying to give back in some small measure to the brave men and women at Dover Air Force Base.”
Travis Boardman Inc. is a corporate partner working with the Delaware Office of Highway Safety to educate drivers on the importance of highway safety. Travis Boardman has worked as an independent contractor providing transportation services for FedEx Ground for the last 17 years.
