Girl Scout Troops 1485 and 1482 in Lewes will be offering Holiday gift wrapping in downtown Lewes beginning Black Friday.  Micha Seto of Blooming Boutique, Lewes Gifts and Treasures, has offered the girls space in Treasures this holiday season to wrap gifts purchased from local merchants or any gift you would like wrapped.  The girls in the troops are raising money for a 2016 trip to Europe.

The girls will be donating their time and Ms. Seto is supplying all of the gift wrap, bows, and accessories.  Donations will be accepted and greatly appreciated and will be used towards the cost of their journey.  "Girls will be available from 10-6 every Saturday and Sunday in December, as well as Black Friday and Christmas Eve from 10-2," according to Troop Leader Rebecca Lowe.

The girls started their fundraising efforts by "Flocking their friends and neighbors' with a flock of pink flamingos in and around Lewes.  "We have had tremendous community support in our fundraising efforts.  We have flocked over 50 yards in the last two months.  The flock has gone into hibernation but will return in the spring," says Troop Leader Anna Moshier.  "The cost of the trip is approximately $4,500 per girl so they will be holding various fundraisers in additions to our annual Cookie sales. Our pink flamingo mascots will be outside of Treasures wearing Santa hats to help you find us."

The trip to Europe has been 10 years in the planning.  The girls were promised by Troop Leader, Janet Maher as Daisy Girl Scouts that she would take them to visit the two Girl Scout World Centers in England and Switzerland if they remained in Girl Scouts until their Senior year in High School.  "We started fundraising efforts far in advance so that as many girls as possible would have the opportunity to raise the money to go," Maher said.  Four of the original girls from the troop, Katie Maher, Mia Moshier, Hannah Lowe and Erin Gallagher, still remain in scouting.  "Our goal is to take 36 girls from our council.  Thirteen girls from our Service Unit in Lewes are already registered and are fundraising, said Maher.

"Micha has always been extremely supportive of our girls and the Girl Scout movement, said Maher.  "In the pat she has helped girls earn their Entrepreneur and Business Sense badges.  She wanted to support our trip to Europe and offered us the opportunity to do gift wrapping as a fundraiser.  We truly appreciate her support."
