Lochwood thanks Sussex for roads

Dec 27, 2013

I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Sussex County Engineering Department for all the time and effort they put into starting and completing the roads project in our subdivision of Lochwood.

A few years back a lot of effort was generated to bring the opportunity to all Lochwood property owners to get the roads improved in our subdivision with a lot of assistance from the Sussex County Engineering Department.  All that ime and effort seemed to be in vain as the proposed project was voted down.

Today, Lochwood subdivision propery owners are enjoying a subdivision with newly paved roads throughout the community, thanks to the Sussex County Engineering Department.  Fortunately, we were able to get another opportunity to pursue these desperately needed impovements and this time the propery owners voted to accept the proposed project.

My point here is that with the efforts of the engineering department and the availability of the Sussex Community Improvement Project Program, we were able to attain all these road improvements.  In our subdivision's case, we didn't have the knowledge nor the financial capability to take on a project of this magnitude, but via the community improvements program we were able to seize the opportunity and enjoy the improvements.

Hopefully the property owners of Lochwood realize that without this assistance from the engineering department and the availability of the community improvements program, this project, in my opinion, would never have been completed to the extent that it has been.  I trust our property owners are as grateful as I am for everyone's efforts.  I want to express y gratitude to all the engineering department and all the individuals who worked to bring this peoject to fruition.

William R. Slawter
past president
Lochwood subdivision
