Locomotion at Logo MotiveGraphic design, apparel company moves to Airport Road in Rehoboth
Logo Motive Custom Apparel's busy crew of screen printing and graphic design engineers has arrived at their new home on Airport Road in Rehoboth Beach.
This was not the first move for the promotional apparel specialists, which has been in operation for more than 20 years, but owner Billy Hein said he hopes this will be the last move for a long time.
With 5,500 square feet, the new building is more than three times the size of the previous space. Hein said he’s confident his business will have plenty of room to grow.
“I am very excited about our new building. We have more room, better equipment and are looking forward to continuing to serve businesses and customers in Rehoboth Beach and the surrounding areas,” Hein said.
The previous building, a house and garage on Route 24, was so small that in order to fulfill orders, Hein put a shed in the limited back yard to create more work space.
“It’s really amazing how much we can get done for such limited space, and it’s really because we have great employees,” he said at the time.
Now that the new facility is completed, Logo Motive Custom Apparel arrived its new home in mid-May and the staff quickly got to work filling orders to provide local businesses with uniforms for employees and other promotional materials.
“We moved on Saturday and the guys were already printing on Sunday,” he said. “The showroom was open on Monday.”
Logo Motive’s new location includes a show room, more overall work space and office space for in-house graphic designers Chrys Heidel and Candace Rogers.
Formerly elbow-to-elbow, sharing space in the foyer of Logo Motive offices, the graphic designers worked double-duty, doing design and reception for a steady stream of patrons, visitors and deliveries at the location on Route 24.
Now their offices are in a large receiving area the size of the old Logo Motive location.
With a show room and receptionist to handle some of the day-to-day transactions, the designers agreed they are thrilled with the new arrangements.
“We love it,” Rogers said.
Hein has already filled two new jobs created as a result of the expansion and despite the stress of a move in the middle of a busy spring, the owner said this is the good kind of stress. He hopes to support the local business community as much has they have supported him.
“It’s all the local businesses that have helped us grow to this point and expand, so we want to help them grow their business,” Hein said.
