Long Neck brothers face drug charges
Three Long Neck brothers face drug charges after police responded to a 911 call.
Emergency personnel responded to a home in the 26000 block of Cattail Lane at 3:35 p.m., Dec. 26, after 911 received a call about a possible drug overdose, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.
Inside the home, emergency personnel discovered a marijuana manufacturing operation, Fournier said. They also saw a handgun on the fireplace mantel before contacting police.
Delaware State Police secured the home and obtained a search warrant while Zachary C. Zimmer, 24, was taken to Beebe Healthcare for possibly ingesting fentanyl, Fournier said. Fentanyl is a prescription drug.
When police searched the home, they found four handguns with ammunition, more than 94 grams of marijuana, equipment to grow plants, drug paraphernalia and fireworks.
Kyle W. Zimmer, 32, and Trevor M. Zimmer, 29, were home at the time; police charged all three brothers with possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, possession of marijuana, possession of fireworks and other drug charges.
Kyle and Trevor were committed to Sussex Correctional Institution; Kyle in default of $20,500 secured bond and Trevor in default of $19,000. Zachary is in Department of Correction custody at an undisclosed location in lieu of $18,000 secured bond.
