Rehoboth Beach Community Buddhist Meditation Center warmly welcomes all to attend a series of dharma teachings starting at 10 a.m., Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 1 and 2, offered by Lopon Jann Jackson at All Saints' Epsicopal Church parish hall next to the church at 18 Olive Ave., Rehoboth Beach.

Jackson says, "All beings have the capacity for kindness, clarity and the ability to respond to the needs of others. However, this capacity is often obscured by our hopes and fears.Throughout the span of 2,500 years, people have benefited from the teachings and example of what the Buddha had taught. He showed a path for realizing one's inherent, brilliant nature."

The two-day intensive program will provide an overview of the path. There will be talks, guided meditation, group discussion and time with community. There is a suggested donation of $20, but no one will be turned away for lack thereof.

Jackson has been a student of Her Eminence Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche since 1994. Jackson studied with the late Vidyadhara, Trungpa Rinpoche from 1975 to 1987. She has also received teachings and transmissions from H.H. Mindrolling Trichen Rinpoche, H.H. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, H.H. the Dalai Lama, H.H. the XVI and XVII Karmapa, H.E. Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche and H.E. Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche and the Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.  She has been a meditation instructor since 1978 and has taught Buddhist study/practice programs in many East Coast dharma centers.

Other studies include a master's degree in psychology. She served as the associate director for the House of Ruth, a nationally acclaimed domestic violence program in Maryland, for 14 years, then as the executive director of Advocates for Children and Youth, a statewide child advocacy organization for 11 years. Currently she is a senior fellow at the Annie E. Casey Foundation, serving the needs of disadvantaged families nationwide.
