Silence is Golden. Especially for Love Creek habitat.

Many a truth is said in jest!  There is overwhelming opposition to the Love Creek RV Resort project from local communities – and it was clearly presented to the Planning and Zoning and County Council members in recent weeks.  However, everyone in Sussex County should be angered at this proposal.  It will be a drain to all county taxpayers.  The RV population will be dependent on police, fire and paramedic services while providing no tax revenues to the county.  Over 50% of the county General Fund budget is subsidized by property tax and realty transfer tax.  These revenues go to our public safety services.  The RV Park will contribute negligible taxes and fees and ZERO realty transfer taxes to Sussex County.  A housing development on the same property would provide the county with $5 million in additional revenues (per County Finance report) versus the RV project.  Who will support them?  All Sussex county homeowners and taxpayers will.  Do you want taxes to rise? If not – contact your local County Council member, be it Vincent, Wilson, Phillips, Deaver or Cole.  The decision is in their hands.  It is not just a local issue – it is a Sussex County and Delaware issue. This not the right place for an RV Resort and Campground.

Well stated Greg & Terri. You bring to light yet another reason why this RV Park is a bad idea. What good is it to our community other than a drain of taxpayer resources?
