LRAC doesn't support New Life
I have been a volunteer at the New Life Thrift Shop for more than 13 years. This thrift shop is staffed by over 100 dedicated volunteers. There are no paid positions, including the general manager or daily managers, all of whom donate their time and efforts.
In 2012, New Life grossed over a $500,000, all of which was delivered after expenses, to the Lewes-Rehoboth Association of Churches (LRAC) for distribution to various charities throughout Sussex County.
LRAC provides absolutely no support whatsoever to New Life, yet without the money could not survive. The recent resignation of the general manager at New Life was as a result of non-support from LRAC. If anybody is under the illusion that LRAC supports New Life, they would be sadly misinformed.
The thrift shop is supported entirely by its volunteers, without any support from LRAC. I'm fairly sure LRAC does some good, but to say it supports the thrift shop would be a gross understatement.
