Main Street thanks community for Downtown’s Cookin’
Rehoboth Beach Main Street would like to thank our local community, the Downtown’s Cookin’ Committee, and all the generous sponsors, restaurants and volunteers who contributed to make Downtown’s Cookin’ Community Unity Event a success Dec. 8. Hundreds of people braved poor weather conditions to gather at the Rehoboth Convention Center and feast on local chefs/restaurants’ favorite dishes and desserts while enjoying live musical performances, kids crafts and even a visit from Santa! In addition to food and entertainment, Rehoboth’s 2013 Citizen of the Year Paul Kuhns was honored. Proceeds from this year’s Downtown’s Cookin’ will benefit local families in need with Cape Henlopen Community Caring 2013 and RBMS.
This event would not be possible without the following people: The amazing events coordinator team of Kathy McGuiness, Gretchen Hanson and Alyssa Titus, the locals who shared their recipes and stories in the Downtown’s Cookin’ Holiday Recipe Book, Rehoboth Auto Mall Food Drive, Dennis Diehl, Rehoboth Inspired Chefs Initiative, Heidi Lowe, Colleen Lowe and her Cape Henlopen High School Honor Society, Joyce and John Michalek of The Bake Shoppe, Tim Laushey Trio, Cape Henlopen High's Cape Chorale directed by Louise Foster, Magic by Charlie, The Point Coffee House & Bakery, Victorias, Angie Watkins, Beth Thomas, Stephanie David, Steve McGuiness, Baylan McGuiness, Reece Brown, Georgia Spade, Jake Spade, Ed Harner, Virginia Anderson, Carole Suchanek, and Monroe and Jamie Colvett.
