Many thanks to Irish Eyes from DFRC

By Eddie “O” Osienski | Jul 13, 2014

On behalf of the Delaware Foundation…Reaching Citizens with Intellectual DisABILITIES (DFRC), I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Mayor Ted Becker and the entire Town of Lewes for all your support on the success of the 11th annual Blue-Gold All Star 5K run/1 mile walk held June 7. This year’s event increased to over 250 participants through the support of Charlene and Tom Jones of Irish Eyes.

Charlene and Tom Jones, along with their dedicated staff at Irish Eyes in Lewes, are to be commended for all the time they volunteered in both promoting the run/walk and staffing the event which led to making the event an overwhelming success. Through their efforts, DFRC far exceeded its goal in raising both funds and awareness to support their mission to enrich the lives of Delawareans with intellectual disabilities.

Many thanks also to Mayor Becker and Town Council for their approval and support, the great work of the Lewes Police Department in directing traffic, Tim Bamforth of the Seashore Striders, the many volunteers who helped on race day, The Beacon Motel, Crystal Springs Water, and individual sponsors: Shore Silver, DSEA, Delaware Building and Construction Trades, Just Comfort Shoes, Jetco Heating & Air Conditioning, Gail and Jim Logullo and, of course, Chris Rausch and The Cape Gazette for their outstanding support of the event.

If repetition adds significance, let me thank DFRC’s many friends and supporters in the Lewes area who have helped us further pursue our mission of enriching the lives of our state’s citizens with intellectual disabilities and, in the process, have our own lives enriched by giving back to the community.
