Margaret Lorah Moyer, loved the beach

Margaret W. Lorah Moyer, 89, widow of Walter "Barney" Moyer of Gilbertsville, Pa., passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at her home.

Born in New Berlinville, Pa., Margaret was the youngest daughter of the late Maurice and Alice (Weller) Lorah.

Margaret graduated Boyertown High School in 1940. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Gilbertsville.

Margaret worked as a store clerk in Leidy's Grocery Store in Boyertown until 1962. Margaret also worked at Campbell's Manufacturing Company in Boyertown as a packer and a shipper from 1962-82. After her retirement, she took a part-time job as a clerk at Tasty Maid Bakery at the Coventry Mall in Pottstown until 1990.

Margaret was very independent, lived by herself and drove her car until her passing. Margaret loved Rehoboth Beach. She loved the sun, the beach and the boardwalk. Margaret enjoyed going to the casinos with friends and took numerous trips within the United States, Canada and Germany.

Margaret is survived by one daughter, Jane L., wife of Robert G. Rahsman of Lewes; one sister, Hilda, widow of Frank O'Connell of Gilbertsville; and one sister-in-law, Sarah, widow of Russell Lorah of Emmaus, Pa.

She was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1986; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Russell Lorah and Daniel and Florence Lorah; three sisters and three brothers-in-law, Mabel and Raymond Leister, Edna and Joseph Pike and Edwinna and Robert Wren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 19, at Morrell Funeral Home Inc., 124 West Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
