Margaret W. Zimmerman, loving homemaker

Margaret W. Zimmerman, 87, of Lewes, passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa. April 24, 1926, daughter of the late Ellwood and Geneva (Anderson) Wissler.

Mrs. Zimmerman was formerly from Southampton, Pa. In addition to being a full time homemaker, she held various positions at the Centennial School District in Warminster, Pa., including her favorite of school bus driving. After 26 years, Mrs. Zimmerman retired to Sussex County, where she found great joy in becoming an active member and volunteer at Community Lutheran Church in Omar and recently at Grace of God Lutheran Church of Millsboro.

Mrs. Zimmerman and her husband Frederick enjoyed traveling together. They went on many cruises all around the world. Her favorite location to visit was the exotic island of Thailand; she loved exploring the tropical beaches and visiting the local markets. During her spare time, Mrs. Zimmerman enjoyed reading a good book and playing Hand and Foot with the girls from church. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and a dear friend, Mrs. Zimmerman will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Zimmerman was preceded in death by her brother, Ellwood Wissler; and her sister, June Goeller. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Frederick E. Zimmerman; her son, Frederick E. Zimmerman and his wife Lisa of Feasterville, Pa.; and her one grandson, Joshua Zimmerman, who was the apple of her eye.

All services are private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
