Markert has qualifications Rehoboth needs

By Judy Mellen | Aug 01, 2014

As voters research the qualifications of the five candidates running for the two Rehoboth Beach commissioner seats in the upcoming August 9 election, I strongly suggest that they look closely at Francis Markert as one of the best qualified. He has a strong financial background, a very important qualification for a steward of our tax dollars.

Furthermore, he has had a career in government and experience in city matters as a five year member of the planning commission. Rather than having to go through a learning curve, he can “hit the ground running,” knowing procedures, policies and the overall concept of our city government.

Francis “Bunky” Markert is uniquely qualified to deal with the critical issues facing the city: preserving the small town nature of our wonderful city by preserving green space and privacy; ensuring the continued health of our lakes and dealing responsibly with growth.

In short, Bunky is who we should elect to work for us as Rehoboth Beach Commissioner.
