Markert will stand up for business community

By Gary Frahm | Jul 31, 2014

A current small business owner in Baltimore with entrepreneurial interest in Rehoboth Beach, I know I can count upon Francis “Bunky” Markert Jr. to carefully consider the business community’s needs as city commissioner.

Approachable- - he’s a genuinely nice guy, focused and attentive, inclusive and most of all, fair in his decision-making, Bunky brings the all-too-rare ability to see and clearly evaluate the many sides of complex issues. He learned and has consistently practiced these qualities in his prior public sector employment as an auditor and then head of accounting services for the state of Maryland, and most recently as secretary for the Rehoboth Beach Planning Commission and capital procurement for the regarded Garden of Navigators in Rehoboth, as well.

With the election merely one week away, your vote for Bunky as city commissioner delivers an important advocate for the voices of Rehoboth Beach’s business community. His financial background coupled with his analytic skills make Mr. Markert a “natural” for this vital yet frequently overshadowed elected position. A man of integrity and altruism with political allegiances to no one, he will speak for the interests of the small businessperson and thoughtful citizen alike.

Please vote for Francis “Bunky” Markert Jr. next Saturday, Aug. 9.
