McGuiness is pro-business, pro-property owner
Kathy McGuiness is an Rehoboth Beach native and licensed pharmacist who owned and operated Rehoboth Pharmacy for eight years and downtown's Bootlegger shoe store for seven years. She loves Rehoboth Beach and has a track record of solving issues of concern to both property owners and business owners.
One summer, back when Kathy was in college, she worked full-time for me as a receptionist at Mae Hall McCabe Real Estate, and also worked full-time bussing tables at busy restaurants and doing other odd jobs. Today, Kathy continues to have that kind of enormous energy and willingness to work hard and get important things done.
Over the years I have watched her work for those of us who live here as well as those who own businesses in town. This dedicated volunteer (and she's always volunteering!) looks for balance on all issues, making sure both residents and businesses get their needs met. She is open minded, does not show up with any personal agenda and ever, ever comes to the table without researching the issue and doing, as they say, due diligence.
She helped bring tourism to town when it was desperately needed; from fireworks to revitalization, Kathy has been a key force for our economic health and livable hometown. Kathy was voted Delaware Travel and Tourism person of the year for the entire state of Delaware in 2000 and won “best partnership ”at the governor's tourism conference in 2009. Kathy fought for funding of projects from the new Boardwalk, Bandstand, more equipment for city services and a lot more. She has always advocated for the business community here while also keeping residents and property owners in mind. It's her strength and she excels at it.
Let's put Kathy back onto the board of commissioners to work on our behalf for the issues that really matter to all of us.
If you care for Rehoboth Beach and its future, please vote Aug. 9 for Kathy McGuiness!
