Milford Housing Development Corporation celebrated its Second Annual Fall Festival Sept. 14. Honored guests included City of Milford Mayor Joseph “Ronnie” Rogers;  state Rep. Harvey Kenton, R-Milford, and  state Rep. David Wilson, R-Bridgeville.

Attendance tripled from last year, with nearly 350 attending. Hundreds of local families participated in this free day filled with children's and family activities. Highlights of the festival included heavy construction equipment rides, crafts, games, face painting, hayrides, and pumpkin decorating, with food provided by local favorites Butch and Linda Elzey of Troops Barbecue & Catering.

“It was 36 years ago that a small group of concerned city residents came together to found this organization, MHDC. Ever since then, not only has MHDC continued to grow and expand as we strive to meet our mission of providing affordable housing solutions, but the support we’ve received from the community has remained just as strong as all those years ago,” said David Moore, president & CEO of MHDC.

“That is what today is all about; this Fall Festival is our opportunity to say thank you and to give back to the people of Milford. None of our success would have been possible without their support. That’s why it thrills me to see all these families here today and celebrate the accomplishments of the community, our great City of Milford and of MHDC, together.”

MHDC is a mission-driven nonprofit housing developer with a sensible approach and a caring environment for people of modest means.
