Milton art show promotes sustainability
Milton — A new addition to the Milton Farmers' Market Aug. 9 was a collection of 24 pieces of art. The Economic Development Committee and Lavender Fields teamed together to host the Lexicon of Sustainability Pop-Up Art Show.
The show is the brainchild of filmmaker and photographer Douglas Gayeton and his wife, producer Lisa Howard-Gayeton. The duo crisscrossed the country learning the basic terms and principles that define sustainability. The couple documented their three-year journey and transformed their experience into an educational art show. Each photograph features simple white, chalkboard-like writing describing the scene and its connection to a sustainable lifestyle.
Scenes vary from a man standing in the middle of a herd of sheep to a woman holding eggs in the middle of a farmers market, but one thing all the photographs have in common is sustainability.
