Milton Holiday House Tour welcomes visitors Dec. 14Event coincides with annual Holly Festival
Visitors can enjoy the spirit of the holidays in Milton, a charming town on the National Register of Historic Places, from 2:30 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14.
The Holiday House Tour sponsored by the Milton Century Club celebrates the beauty of the season and features 12 decorated private homes and buildings.
Visitors will be inspired by a home with six themed Christmas trees, a cozy craftsman-style cottage, a circa 1828 Colonial, a remodeled midcentury home with many antiques, collections of vintage ornaments, a Dickens Village display, unique art collections and Delmarva antiques, and a museum housed in a former church.
Homemade treats will be offered at several of the locations. Homeowners will share information about their homes and decorations. Most of the locations are within walking distance of downtown Milton.
The tour takes place rain or shine. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the tour and may be purchased in Milton at Antiques in Milton, 109 Union St.; Hillside Flowers, 105 Lavinia St.; Salon Milton, 517 Chestnut St.; Lydia B. Holiday House Tour tickets may also be purchased Dec. 14 at the annual Holly Festival sponsored by the Milton Chamber of Commerce that is held in the Milton Fire Hall on Front Street, Goshen Hall on Federal Street and throughout the town. The Holly Festival features handmade crafts, foods, holly wreath-making demonstrations and many gift items available at local shops and the Milton Library. Santa makes a special visit as well. The Holly Festival is held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
