Milton man charged in burglary of neighbor

Aug 07, 2014

A Milton man faces burglary charges after police say he stole jewelry from a neighbor and sold it to a pawn shop.

Daniel M. Brower, 32, had been a business partner with his neighbor and had access to her house when he stole jewelry from her home, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.

Police linked Brower to the thefts after a 2006 Salisbury University class ring engraved with the woman's name was found at a pawn shop. Police learned Brower made a large amount of money by selling jewelry to pawn shops in Delaware and Maryland, Fournier said.

Police arrested Brower July 29 and charged him with three counts of second-degree burglary, eight counts of theft and six counts of falsifying business documents.

Brower was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $23,000 unsecured bond.
