A 33-year-old Milton man faces charges after police say he made threatening calls to 911 three times in a 10-minute period.

Chad A. Tylecki called 911 at 10:18 p.m., Sept. 26 and threatened to harm a Lewes police officer over a past incident, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.

Tylecki sued the City of Lewes and its police department in 2011 for a 2008 incident in which he was Tasered by police while shackled and handcuffed in a Beebe Medical Center examination room. Tylecki alleged he suffered permanent injuries from the incident; a jury unanimously ruled against him in 2012.

In the latest incident, police responded to Tylecki's home in the 15000 block of Coastal Highway and told him to stop calling, but Tylecki continued to call 911 after they left, Fournier said. Tylecki then threatened to shoot police if they came to his house, he said.

Police returned to the home with Tylecki's father who found Tylecki on the roof of the house with a fully loaded 9mm handgun, Fournier said.

The father climbed onto the roof with his son, and Tylecki threw the gun to the ground, Fournier said.

After a brief struggle, Fournier said, police and the father took Tylecki into custody.

Tylecki was charged with malicious interference with emergency communications, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited, resisting arrest and criminal mischief. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $6,750 cash.

Tylecki is prohibited from possessing, purchasing or owning a gun because he was committed to the state mental hospital in 2006, Fournier said.
