Participating churches should report numbers by July 19
Jul 12, 2014

Everlasting Hope Ministries is a ministry of caring that annually sponsors a series of fellowship services under a big tent placed strategically in the community, along with a community anti-drug rally through Georgetown. The purpose is to provide an avenue of support and hope for those whose lives have been adversely affected by drugs and alcohol.

This year’s tent services will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday, Aug. 12-14 and 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 17. The annual Anti-Drug Rally & March will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 16. This year’s theme is God Will Restore, Deliver, and Set Free…If You Allow Him.

Funds are needed to purchase food for these events as well as provide healthcare products, toiletries, and items such as educational literature and T-shirts with positive, healthy messages. Items will be given free to those who attend the services.

This year’s preachers include Bishop Jamie Hazzard, Welcome Full Gospel Holiness Church, Slaughter Neck; Bishop Roland Mifflin from Power & Love Outreach Ministry, Millsboro; Pastor Helena Bailey form New Life Family Ministry, Millsboro: Bishop Marvin Morris form Booker Street Church of God, Georgetown; and Pastor Arlene Taylor form Chosen Generation, Grasonville, Md.  The Saturday march, which begins at 10 Booker St. in Georgetown, will feature kids, special characters, entertainment, food, music and games at no cost.

Everlasting Hope Ministries is asking for financial support to help with the costs of these activities. Donations will be used solely to purchase materials and supplies to promote its anti-drug message.  Checks should be made payable to Everlasting Hope Ministries. Contributions will have a lasting impact on the lives of individuals in the community and will be greatly appreciated.

For an accurate T-shirt count, churches planning to attend the Anti-Drug Rally & March should provide the exact number of shirts needed by Saturday, July 19. The T-shirts are free and will only be provided on the day of the march to those who actively participate. Contact Carol Neal at 302-422-3703, Vanessa Neal at 302-854-6692 or Tony Neal at 302-381-3711 to make arrangements for receiving them. Call the church at 302-856-9097 for more information.

Everlasting Hope Ministries was established in 1993 as a support ministry for individuals who have fallen prey to drug and alcohol addictions. Its support services include transportation, job searches, mentoring, and housing. Individual counseling and referrals to other agencies have been made as necessary. EHM also offers a weekly support class to individuals who battle substance abuse addictions; sponsors a weeklong series of tent services; and operates Tony’s House, a temporary shelter for individuals in transition from the penal system back into the community. Contact the Rev. Anthony “Tony” Neal, director, with any questions or concerns at 302-381-3711 or 302-854-6692.
