Mozart's "Cosi fan tutte" comes to Cape theater April 26
The Rehoboth Beach Film Society and the Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation will present the Metropolitan Opera’s Live in HD broadcast of Mozart’s beloved opera “Così fan tutte” at 12:55 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Cape Henlopen High School theater in Lewes. This production is the ninth opera in the 2013-14 season for The Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD series.
In addition to the opera performance, the HD series features Met opera stars conducting live interviews with cast and/or various production crew members while showing behind-the-scene workings.
Director James Levine makes his long-awaited return to the Met podium to conduct Mozart’s final comic opera, “Così fan tutte,” a laughing look at the twists and turns of romantic love. The cast is filled with youthful Met stars: Susanna Phillips and Isabel Leonard are the sisters Fiordiligi and Dorabella, and Matthew Polenzani and Rodion Pogossov are their lovers, with Danielle de Niese as the scheming Despina.
Admission for “The Met: Live in HD” broadcasts is $22 for Met members, $25 for adults, $22 for seniors (65 plus), $15 for students (with ID), and $15 for children (12 and under).
