Newly named Pivot Physical Therapy combines local practices
Two physical therapy practices with nine locations in Delaware have combined with more than 50 clinics operating in five states to become Pivot Physical Therapy.
The local clinics in Delaware operated as Southern Delaware Physical Therapy with six locations, and Professional Physical Therapy & SportsCare with three locations. They join Professional SportsCare & Rehab, Maryland SportsCare & Rehab, and Littlestown, Pa. Physical Therapy & SportsCare. Both staffing and services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, aquatic therapy and sports medicine services, will not be affected by the rebrand.
Southern Delaware Physical Therapy has six locations in Delaware, including Lewes, Rehoboth, Long Neck, Georgetown, Milford and Smyrna.
“We are excited about this new opportunity to merge under one roof," said Ryan Batdorf of Southern Delaware Physical Therapy. "Our staff will continue to be the same, great hometown therapists providing world-class physical therapy where you live, work, and play."
Pivot Physical Therapy employs more than 500 physical therapists, certified athletic trainers, and support staff who specialize in treating athletic injuries, general orthopedics, postoperative care, total joint rehab, spine care, hand therapy, workplace injury prevention and industrial rehabilitation, and arthritis and pain management. They also provide wellness consultation and fitness training.
“Uniting under one roof will allow us to leverage the strength and expertise of our significant company-wide resources in each of the communities we serve," said Batdorf.
In addition to its clinical practice, Pivot Physical Therapy works closely with more than 40 scholastic and collegiate athletic departments to provide athletic trainers and sports medicine services for men's and women's junior varsity and varsity sports. Services include year-round, game-day physical sports therapy, comprehensive concussion management programs, and injury screens. Its staff also teaches courses to high school coaches on the prevention and treatment of athletic injuries.
