Proceeds from ‘The Butler’ going to Wounded Warriors

Atlantic Theaters owner Richard Derrickson is planning to donate The Movies at Midway profits from box office revenue from “The Butler” to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Derrickson initially did not wish to play “The Butler” at his theater due to Jane Fonda starring as Nancy Reagan in the film and her actions which supported the North Vietnamese Army during the Vietnam War.

When Derrickson informed the Weinstein Co. that Atlantic Theaters was not going to screen “The Butler,” he was told that he would not be able to play upcoming Weinstein films if he did not show “The Butler.”

Derrickson then agreed to show “The Butler” at The Movies at Midway, but in order to remain true to his feelings regarding Fonda, he will be donating The Movies at Midway box office revenue profits from “The Butler” to the Wounded Warrior Project and support a very worthy cause. There are four shows offered daily of “The Butler” at 1, 3:50, 6:35 and 9:20 p.m.
