Rehoboth to talk reassessment Nov. 16

The Rehoboth Beach commissioners will provide an update on the proposed citywide reassessment project at their regular meeting, 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, in the city commissioners’ room.

The commissioners will consider adopting a rewrite of the city code regarding flood damage reduction to bring the code into agreement with the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s requirements for the National Flood Insurance Program.

The commissioners will consider appointments to city committees, commissions and boards, as well as discuss and decide the request of a city employee to review a disciplinary suspension for failing to follow city procedure for clocking in and out of work five times this year. This item could be discussed in executive session.

Rehoboth in Bloom committee to meet

An ad hoc committee of the Rehoboth Beach Streets and Transportation Committee will discuss the Rehoboth in Bloom project at its 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 19 meeting in the city commissioners’ room. The committee will discuss its current projects: the rain garden in front of City Hall and plantings at the Lake Gerar Bridge and the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal Bridge.

There will be an update on proposed projects such as additional lamppost baskets at the canal bridge, a flowerbed in Mariners’ Park off Lake Gerar and planters on Rehoboth Avenue.

Finally, the committee will discuss a meeting with the city manager regarding Sposato Landscape’s work for the city. Discussion will include suggested areas in need of attention and areas where additional color could be added.

Rehoboth planners stay the course with officers

The Rehoboth Beach Planning Commission will keep its slate of officers intact for the next year.

Preston Littleton will return for the 11th straight year as chairman, Commissioner David Mellen will again be vice chair, and Commissioner Bunky Markert will be secretary.

Milton charter panel to meet Nov. 13

The Milton Charter and Ordinance Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Milton Public Library. The group will discuss and possibly vote on the territorial limits in the town charter and review information regarding the fee schedule as a source document. The committee will begin discussion on items provided by the code enforcement officer. For more information, go to www.ci.milton.de.us.

Milton economic panel meeting set Nov. 13

The Milton Economic Development Committee will hold a meeting at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Milton Public Library. The group will discuss the 2013 budget and method of control of raised funds. The committee will also talk about possible involvement in the Milton Speaks initiative, and receive an update on a meeting with Delaware Economic Development Office and Delaware Tourism Office officials. Milton preservation group meeting canceled

The Milton Historic Preservation Committee meeting scheduled for Nov. 13 has been canceled due to a lack of agenda items. For more information, call town hall at 302-684-4110.
