Cape school board meets Jan. 24
Cape school board will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, in the cafeteria of Mariner Middle School.
The board will vote on allowing a Silver Lake dredging project to use some of Rehoboth Elementary's property to store sediment. The board also will hear a presentation on Mariner Middle's trip to Staten Island to help students affected by Superstorm Sandy.
Lewes BPW to discuss election scheduling
Lewes Board of Public Works will meet at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, in City Hall. Items on the agenda include discussion of this year’s election time line, an annual report on operation and maintenance of the Howard Seymour Reclamation Plant, and discussion of adopting a proposed addendum to the board’s investment guidelines.
The panel will also consider a presentation on behalf of Delaware Municipal Electric Corp. allowing it to continue providing demand-response service in the Lewes area.

Milton council to discuss water funding
Milton Town Council will meet at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Milton Public Library to discuss the town's application to the State Revolving Fund to borrow money for improvements to the water system. The town submitted two preapplications last year detailing work, including a new water tower, interconnection with a private utility and other upgrades to the system. Milton BoA to meet Jan. 22
The Milton Board of Adjustment will meet at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Milton Public Library. A public hearing will be held for Truitt Jefferson's application for a variance at 526 Union St. Jefferson wishes to reduce the depth of the parcel from 100 feet to 97.56 feet.
