Cape board meets to discuss building plan
The Cape Henlopen school board will meet at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 14, in the cafeteria of Mariner Middle School to discuss the proposed plan for new elementary schools. The board also will hear presentations on a high school trip to Costa Rica, a French exchange trip to France and a marine studies research project.
Rehoboth to hold hearing on buffers
The Rehoboth Beach commissioners will hold a public hearing, 7 p.m., Friday, March 15, in the city commissioners’ room, on a proposed ordinance establishing a 10-foot, no-build buffer from the water’s edge around the city’s lakes. The commissioners will hear a permit of compliance request from John Tekman of Semra’s Mediterranean Grill, 19 Rehoboth Ave., to serve alcohol at the restaurant.
In old business, the commissioners will consider adopting an ordinance that would regulate the use and parking of scooters, including setting a fee for scooter parking permits.
In new business, the commissioners will consider adoption of a new Freedom of Information Act policy and set fees for copies of city records under FOIA.
The commissioners will consider adopting an ordinance clarifying the holidays observed by the city and change the day that in certain circumstances is observed as a holiday as it relates to pay for the city’s 911 dispatchers. There will be discussion on household hazardous waste collection programs statewide, and the commissioners will adopt the 2013-14 city budget.
Milton Preservation Committee meets
The Milton Historic Preservation Committee will meet at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, at the Milton Public Library. The only item on the agenda is an application to construct an addition off the home located at 426 Federal St. For more information, call town hall at 302-684-4110.
Milton Personnel Committee meets
The Milton Personnel Committee will meet at 4:45 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, at Town Hall. They will discuss the goals and objectives for employee performance reviews, proposed employee handbook changes to take to council and further review pages 29 through 68.
