Cape school board meets April 9 and 11
The Cape Henlopen School District school board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, April 9 and 11, in the cafeteria of Beacon Middle School.
During the April 9 meeting, the board will discuss the district's school choice and Freedom of Information Act Policies.
On April 11, the board will discuss plans for new elementary schools in the school district and the possibility of adding a school resource officer to the district.
Rehoboth committee meets April 12
The Rehoboth Beach Communications Committee will meet at 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 12, in the city commissioners’ room, to discuss an overhaul of the city’s website and develop a policy for making support documents available to the public.
The committee will continue discussion of the city’s audio policy and consider extending the time recordings of city meetings are available online.
In addition, the committee will give status reports on recommended changes to the city website, recommendations for agenda format changes and a supporting documents program.
Rehoboth planners to host tree presentation
The Rehoboth Beach Planning Commission will host a presentation at 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 12, in the city commissioners’ room, titled “Trees vs. Construction: How can they best coexist.”
The presentation will be given by arborist Bryan Hall, and will give the commission a starting point for its study of the city’s comprehensive tree ordinance. The planners were tasked by the city commissioners with studying and making recommendations for changes to the ordinance.
After Hall’s presentation, discussion will be held between Hall and the commissioners, and public comment will also be taken.
Following the presentation and discussion, the commission will discuss the next steps to be taken in the study.
In new business, building inspector Terri Sullivan will give a report on conditions being met by 12 Rodney St., which was granted a conditional approval Sept. 14.
Milton committee to meet April 11
The Milton Economic Development Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 11, at the Milton Public Library, where members will discuss recommendations to council regarding the business licensing process and a building vacancy ordinance. The group will also finalize a request for assistance from Rick Ferrell and the Delaware Economic Development Office. Milton council to hold workshop April 10
Milton Town Council will meet at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, at the Milton Public Library. Estelle Parker-Selby will be sworn in prior to the meeting to serve the final year of Mayor Marion Jones’ term on council. Council will then reconsider moving forward with a referendum to borrow money for water system improvements.

Milton college ad hoc committee to meet
A newly formed college ad hoc committee in Milton will meet at 3 p.m., Thursday, April 11, at town hall.
