Dewey Beach — The Dewey Beach municipal election, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21, was cancelled when only three people filed for the three open seats on town council.

Mayor Diane Hanson and Commissioner Anna Legates will retain their spots; Commissioner Joy Howell did not file for re-election.

Thirty-year property owner Ellen Danaher, who filed Aug. 19, will replace Howell on town council. No date has yet been set for Danaher to take her seat on council.
