"Nunsensations: The Nunsense Vegas Review" comes to Milford April 26

Mar 19, 2013

Second Street Players' spring musical is the sixth and perhaps the most hilarious version of Dan Goggin's popular "Nunsense" series. "Nunsensation: The Nunsense Vegas Revue" opens Friday, April 26, at the Riverfront Theater, 2 S. Walnut St. in Milford.

The play runs for two weekends with performances Friday to Sunday, April 26 to 28 and May 3 to 5. The Friday and Saturday shows begin at 8 p.m., and the Sunday matinees begin at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $20 and may be reserved at secondstreetplayers.com or by calling Brown Paper Tickets at 1-800-838-3006.

Goggin once again brings the sisters on a new adventure when a parishioner volunteers to donate $10,000 to the sisters' school if they will perform in a club in Las Vegas. Mother Superior is hesitant to accept, but after being convinced by the other sisters that "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas," Reverend Mother agrees.

Director Christopher Clawson will be making his Second Street debut bringing this show to the Riverfront Theater. Clawson has assembled a wonderful cast including Becki Polk of Milford as the Reverend Mother, Steven Haber of Rehoboth as Sister Hubert, Allie Buchanan of Georgetown as Sister Robert Anne, Marian Walter Swett of Harrington as Sister Leo, Susan Newark of Staytonville as Sister Amnesia and Ashley Miller of Milford as Sister Mary Kate.

"Nunsensations" is presented through special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service Inc. The production is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
