One killed, three injured in Frankford crash
The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash east of Frankford Feb. 8.
The crash occurred around 10:38 a.m. as Robert K. Hensley IV, 48, of Milford, was traveling eastbound on Burbage Road approaching Powell Farm Road in a 2001 Mazda Millenia.
Danny L. Moore, 51, and his 15-year-old son, both of Selbyville, were northbound on Powell Farm Road approaching Burbage Road in a 1989 Dodge Caravan. Hensley failed to stop at the posted stop sign and struck the Caravan directly on the left side. Both vehicles ran off the northeast corner of the intersection and into a ditch. The Caravan overturned and came to a stop upside down in the ditch with the front of the Mazda partially underneath the hood of the van.
Danny Moore, who was properly restrained, was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple traumatic injuries suffered in the crash. His son, who was properly restrained in the front passenger seat, was initially transported to Beebe Healthcare in Lewes before being flown to A.I. DuPont Hospital where he was admitted with non-life-threatening injuries.
Hensley and a 62-year-old female passenger from Lewes who was not identified were both properly restrained and were airlifted to Christiana Medical Center where they were both admitted with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
Police note there is no known relationship between Danny Moore and Charles Moore killed in a crash Feb. 7 north of Milton.
