Outstanding Adult Ed students recognized at statewide conference

Five adult education students from the Sussex Tech Adult Division were recognized at a statewide conference April 5 in Dover.

Recognized as Outstanding Adult Education Students were Azucena Estrada De Benitez, Alex Ramirez Lopez, Ashley Pusey, Paula Alcantara, and Maria Sandoval. The conference was sponsored by the Organization of Adult Alumni Students in Service and the Delaware Association for Adult and Community Education. The students were nominated by their teachers and commended for their dedication to their educational programs.

Sandoval was also inducted into the OAASIS Hall of Fame. She was honored for her incredible self-motivation and persistence, which have inspired her classmates, her teachers, and her children. Sandoval reached her academic goals of earning a high school education while finding the time to accomplish personal goals such as volunteering in the classroom.
