Owens Campus Adult Plus+ celebrates 2012 Senior Art Exhibit

The Division of Corporate and Community Programs and the Adult Plus+ program of Delaware Technical Community College’s Owens Campus recently displayed the 22nd Annual Statewide Senior Art Exhibit through the halls of the Carter Partnership Center.

Each of the seven categories included awards from first place through honorable mention, and an overall Best in Show was chosen.

Best in Show went to Kim Rosner of Newark for her submission in the other/sculpture category, titled “N.Y. Style.”

Other first-place winners were Sandra Bendetti of Lewes for “Lily” in acrylics; Jean Bowers of Milton for “Road to the Sea” in oils, Mary Collins of Dagsboro for “Secret Garden” in pastels, Dennis Shelby of Selbyville for “Red Guitar” in photography, Charlette Niederhauser-Pohler of Selbyville for “Sunny Day II” in watercolors and Charles Rosner of Lewes for “Penguins Kissing.”

Second-place winners were Arlene Bailor of Dagsboro for “In Good Time” in acrylics, Gerilyn Gaskill of Georgetown for “Cheap Rental on the Delaware” in oils, Zelma Nicholas of Milford for “Happiness” in other/jewelry, Stella LeGates of Millsboro for “Gracie” in pastels, Jacqueline Christman of Bethany Beach for “Parade of Umbrellas” in photography, Suella Meldrom of Ellendale for “Ripe Pears” in watercolors and Charles Rosner of Lewes for “Shark” in wood carving.

Third-place winners were Darla Hilton of Millsboro for “Path to Winter” in acrylics, Robert Nicholas of Milford for “Winter Dry Dock” in oils, Elaine O’Bier of Greenwood for “Needlepunch Embroidery” in other/fabric art, Mary Collins of Dagsboro for “Twin Towers” in pastels, Tamera James of Bridgeville for “After the Wave” in photography, Cassandra Gerken of Dagsboro for “The Rooster’s Tail” in watercolors and Daniel Peterscheim of Millsboro for “Mother with Baby Duck” in wood carving.

Honorable mention winners were Edwin Cook Sr. of Harbeson for “Midnite Swim” in acrylics, Janei Folz of Selbyville for “Evening Bridge” in oils, Elaine O’Bier of Greenwood for “Penny Rug Purse” in other/fabric art, Stella LeGates of Millsboro for “Friends” in pastels, Tamera James of Bridgeville for “Morning Fog” in photography, Gerilyn Gaskill of Georgetown for “Savannah & Bay St.” in watercolors and Daniel Peterscheim of Millsboro for “Eagle Cane.”
