Pathways to Success Inc., a Delaware nonprofit, recently received a 2014 Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Harambee XXI Community Service Award for its after-school academic enrichment program and community outreach.

In 2008, Pathways to Success began working with at-risk youth attending Sussex Technical High School. Ninety-eight percent of the program’s initial cohort of 30 students graduated on time and are now attending college, working or serving in the military. In 2012, the program expanded to Cape Henlopen High School and is serving 15 students.

The mission of Pathways to Success is to help youth and their families lead successful lives. Pathways works with students over five years beginning in the ninth grade and concluding one year after high school graduation.

Pathways to Success’s programs at Sussex Tech and Cape Henlopen High Schools are funded by the Delaware Workforce Investment Board and are equal-opportunity programs.
