Peninsula Golf Club increases membership, adds new Nature Center
Membership is growing at The Peninsula Golf & Country Club as it welcomed 44 new members in 2012 and 52 new members in 2013. The membership now totals 615. Each membership at The Peninsula is tied to a real estate purchase, so the community is growing as well.
In addition to the membership growth over the last two years, the Peninsula has made several improvements. A new Nature Center was built along Lingo Creek and was later outfitted with a floating kayak launch, a very welcome amenity to the residents. The Peninsula Club also offers kayak and paddle board rentals year-round in addition to kayak tours in season. The Nature Center complements one of The Peninsula's core values, environmental stewardship. In addition to being an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, The Peninsula has built osprey nests, conducts fish seining, and hosts family nature activities.
A newly expanded Terrace Grille and bar has been a welcome addition as well. "This renovation took place in 2013 in response to The Peninsula's membership growth and commitment to offer the best membership experience possible," said Donald DeMasters, club general manager. "Other recent improvements include the addition of a full-time PGA golf teaching professional, a new children's playground, and enhanced member programming."
