Associates at Perdue Farms’ operation in Milford contributed $42,480.50 to the United Way of Delaware during a recent ceremony at the Perdue facility. The campaign also includes a $3,862 grant funded by the Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Perdue Farms.

The Perdue campaign allowed associates to use a simple payroll deduction process to individually contribute to the United Way campaign. Associates also hosted bake sales and raffles to raise funds to support the campaign.

“We are proud of our team for this accomplishment,” said Dean Walston, Perdue director of operations. “At Perdue, where teamwork is so important to our success, this is an excellent opportunity to support our community and foster teamwork throughout the facility while helping our neighbors.”

United Way of Delaware’s mission is to maximize community resources to improve the quality of life for all Delawareans. Through the combination of generous individual and business contributions, the United Way of Delaware is able to support more than 100 partner agencies.

“On behalf of United Way of Delaware, I extend my sincere and heartfelt thanks to our friends at Perdue for your generosity and long-standing partnership in quenching the thirst for positive and economic change throughout our communities across Delaware,” said Michelle Taylor, president and CEO of United Way of Delaware.
