Pizza delivery man robbed near Lewes
Delaware State Police are searching for three men they say beat up a pizza delivery man Nov. 18 in Henlopen Landing before taking cash and a pizza.
The 35-year-old Papa Johns delivery man went to a home at 32786 Ocean Reach Drive at 9:35 p.m. and noticed a for sale sign in the front yard, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.
When he rang the doorbell, Fournier said, three men ran toward him, and he tried to flee. One man grabbed him, threw him on the ground and punched him in the head while the other two went through his pockets. They took a wallet with cash and a cell phone and ran off toward Route 9 with the pizza, Fournier said.
The delivery man was slightly injured but did not require immediate medical attention, Fournier said. He went to Grotto's Grand Slam and called police about the robbery.
Police are looking for three unarmed black men in connection with the robbery. Two are 20-to-25 years old, about 6-feet tall and thin. One was wearing a black sweat shirt and blue jeans, the other was wearing a gray hoodie and blue jeans. No further description was available about the third man.
