A new rendering of a man found dead in 2012 in a wooded area in Dover may offer clues to his identity, police say.

The man was found near West Rustic Lane and Crawford Carroll Drive; police believe he was 35 to 45 years old, said Jill Fredel, director of communications for the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services.

A Texan forensic artist created a three-dimension facial reconstruction of the man. His hair is reddish brown with pattern baldness. He also has a slight beard on the sides of his jawline. There are also tattoos along the top of his back.

Anyone who may recognize the man is asked to call Sgt. Shawn Harrington of the Dover Police Department at 736-7111, email him at or call Hall Brown, deputy director of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner at 577-3420.
