Police: Woman steals dress then tries to return it for smaller size
A 24-year-old Baltimore woman is charged with shoplifting after police say she stole dresses from Quiet Storm and tried to return one for a smaller size.
Employees became suspicious of Cassidy L. Olson when she was taking a longer time than usual trying on dresses at around 4:18 p.m. April 18 at the Rehoboth Avenue store, said Rehoboth Beach Police Lt. William L. Sullivan.
The woman left the store, and when an employee checked on the changing room, Sullivan said, she found a disabled security sensor and several price tags.
Olson returned to the store at 7:50 p.m. the same day and tried to return the dress that was damaged by the security sensor, Sullivan said. She also tried to return another dress for a smaller size, he said.
Police arrested Olson and charged her with two counts of shoplifting and two counts of criminal mischief. A third stolen dress was found in her car, Sullivan said.
