Questions arise about Punkin Chunkin

By Harry R. Thompson | Oct 19, 2012

Concerning one of your most recent article about Punkin Chunkin. Frank Shade was quoted as saying that liability wavers will have to be signed by all participants, as has been the practice in the past. We have been participants for the past 14 years and to best of my knowledge have never signed anything wavering liability.

Concerning Dan Fair, the injured spotter, I ask the question to those who might know. Can a charitable trust be set up for him with the Punkin Chunkin Association as the sponsor/donor? Would this be a possible alternative to a much uglier alternative? I know the World Championship Punkin Chunkin Association to be a great organization, that does good things for those in need.

Surely they will take care of their own as well.
