RBWG's Night of Songs & Stories July 15 focuses on crime

Jul 08, 2014

The Rehoboth Beach Writers’ Guild will host another night of Songs & Stories Tuesday, July 15, at Annabella’s, 1201 Savannah Road in Lewes.  The event, which starts at 7 p.m. and lasts until about 8:30, is free and open to the public.

This month’s Songs & Stories focuses on crime as a theme with writers and musicians presenting short original pieces. Included in the readers will be Judy Catterton, whose long career as a defense attorney left her with numerous crime stories; mystery writer Crystal Heidel, whose debut novel, "Still Life in Blood," set in Rehoboth and Lewes, recently won first place for a novel from the American Federation of Press Woman; Victor Letonoff, a sergeant on the Rehoboth Beach police force; Gail Comorat, an award-winning poet, and many others. The readings are all brief and will cover a range of genres.

The musicians also will be performing a range of songs, some original, written specifically for this theme and this event - as is the case with musicians Kent Schoch and Mark Stanzilis; and some popular favorites, such as whatever Stuart Vining performs.

Throughout the event, audience members are invited to drink and dine at Annabella’s. The restaurant will be serving from the regular menu of homemade Italian food.
